2015 Latin American Experience Gala

Saturday, November 21, 2015

The Latin American Experience Gala and Auction brings together collectors, galleries, and patrons from throughout Latin America to celebrate the accomplishments of the Latin American Art Department at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston.

In November of 2015, the Latin American Experience Gala takes place in conjunction with the opening of the exhibition Contingent Beauty: Contemporary Art from Latin America. The exhibition features the work of 23 world-renowned Latin American artists who have been at the forefront of a movement to critique political and social realities in the region, making use of sensory-based and conceptual techniques to stimulate audience interaction. All works of art are part of the Museum’s permanent collection.

This year’s Chairmen, Linda and George Kelly, welcome guests at the Latin American Experience Gala to participate in a four-day immersive experience, including exclusive viewings of private collections and artist-led discussions of the works featured in Contingent Beauty.

The 2015 Latin American Experience Gala and Auction takes place the evening of November 21 and features a Sotheby’s-led live auction, seated dinner, dancing, and live entertainment.
