Travel

In a quest to learn more about the exciting world of Latin American art, the Latin Maecenas patron group has developed a robust travel agenda that has taken members across the globe, into some of the world's most exclusive private collections and renowned museums. The group also enjoys private visits to artists’ studios and has attended art auctions featuring masterpieces of Latin American art. These trips are designed and led by Mari Carmen Ramírez, the Wortham Curator of Latin American Art at the MFAH.

Since 2008, the Latin Maecenas have visited Buenos Aires, Chile, Peru, Zurich, and most recently, Cuba. These trips are once-in-a-lifetime opportunities to gain access to the world of Latin American art and culture in all its forms, from ancient sites such as Machu Picchu in Peru to dinners with collectors in Switzerland.

The Latin Maecenas will continue to travel both nationally and abroad, taking advantage of MFAH partnerships with artists, studios, and museums in Latin America and beyond. Don’t miss out on these exciting opportunities to immerse yourself in Latin American art and culture. Join the Latin Maecenas today! Contact Bradley Houston at bhouston@mfah.org or 713.639.7594.
